HEAD VARSITY COACH - Jamie Slot
I have had the honor of coaching at Brandon High School since the 2002-2003 school year. At this time, I was hired as a History and Art teacher, as well as the Junior Varsity cheerleading coach. In 2003-2004 I was hired as the head Varsity coach and was given the task of changing the program from the MCCA Sideline Cheer format to the MHSAA Competitive Cheer format. it has been a fun and exciting journey, to say the least! The Brandon cheer program means the world to me and I have a special place in my heart for all of my athletes, past and present. I am also happily married to my husband John and enjoy being a mom to my son Jake.
ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH & HEAD JV COACH - Brooke Sharrard
My path with cheer began when I was a student at Brandon High School. Before I graduated in 2009, I cheered at the Varsity level for 3 years and was proud, as an athlete, to help evolve the program into what it is today. My coaching career began in 2006 when I became a coach for the Brandon Junior Blackhawks. I then had the privilege of assisting the Varsity team beginning in 2010. In the winter of 2011, I was also hired to be the head coach of the Junior Varsity team. Currently, I attend baker college and will graduate in the spring of 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education-language arts. I have a very strong passion for the cheerleading and one day play to open my own gymnastics center.
